Founder’s Letter

From the Desk of Sushmita Mukherjee

Twilfit was born at the intersection of experience, intention, and empathy.

After spending 17 years building my career, I reached a point where I wanted to create something deeply meaningful — not just professionally, but personally. I had seen the world of fashion evolve, yet I noticed that many narratives remained unchanged. High fashion was often aspirational, but not always inclusive. Beautiful, but bounded by predecided boxes of size, skin tone, age, or origin.

I wanted to challenge that.

As a woman — and as a mother — my understanding of confidence has grown more nuanced with time. Confidence is not constant; it evolves with our bodies, our responsibilities, and the many roles we step into. I realised that what women truly seek is not to fit into an ideal, but to feel seen, comfortable, and celebrated exactly as they are, at every stage of life.

Twilfit was created from this belief.

I envisioned a brand that could embody high fashion and refined aesthetics, while remaining deeply respectful of real bodies and real lives. A brand that doesn’t ask women to change themselves to belong, but instead designs with thoughtfulness, inclusivity, and care. One that understands that beauty is not defined by age, geography, or complexion — and that style should never come at the cost of comfort or self-acceptance.

At Twilfit, every piece is designed with intention — from the way it fits, to how it feels, to how it makes you carry yourself. Whether it is lingerie, beachwear, or accessories, our focus remains the same: to create designs that support, flatter, and empower, without labels or limitations.

Our philosophy, Bold In Every Body, is deeply personal to me. It reflects my journey, my learnings, and my hope for the women who wear Twilfit. Boldness, to me, is not loud or performative — it is quiet confidence, earned through self-acceptance and comfort in one’s own skin.
